Biografía

Alex Lazard (Mexico City, 1986) trained as a painter and engraver in various institutions and workshops in Mexico and abroad, among which are the Workshop of the master Gilberto Aceves Navarro. He took courses at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving ¨La Esmeralda (Mexico City), at the University of Barcelona (Spain) and the Angel Academy of Classic Art (Florence, Italy). His work is gestated in the search for the primitive, using archetypal symbolism from a personal exploration that delves into the complexity of the psyche and its forms, in a way in which the artist does not seek external references, but images from the immensity of the unconscious. . The execution of the work is visceral, where intuition and error are an important part of the creative process, since the work is not preconceived, but rather develops as the matter and its particularities give shape to the image, in the one in which Lazard acts as a channel that allows capturing what is not seen. The deformation of the image creates particular worlds, where the viewer can and should generate a particular reaction of deduction before the narrative proposed by the artist, who goes through an inexhaustible search to "download the information, to sincerely capture what is, what he sees." and feel.
